Northwest Texas Healthcare System Hosting Special Events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Northwest Texas Healthcare System will be hosting a series of special events to encourage women to have their annual exam during breast cancer awareness month.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), annually, about 264,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 42,000 women die from the disease. Most breast cancers are found in women 50 years and older, but it can also affect younger women.
The series of events will be held from 8 – 10 a.m. at the Women’s Imaging Center, 1501 S. Coulter on these dates: October 2, October 16 and October 30. Women are invited to come enjoy food, drinks and a special gift as they learn more about the importance of getting a mammogram. An oncology nurse will be available to answer questions and offer information about various breast issues.
