Northwest Texas Healthcare System Hosts Educational Lecture on Eating Disorders
Northwest Texas Healthcare System Behavioral Health will be hosting a series of educational events for the community.
The first event is scheduled for March 21, 2023, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the TTUHS School of Pharmacy Auditorium. Our featured speaker will be Rachel Hutto, MS, RD, LD, CNSC, Clinical Nutrition Manager at NWTHS, presenting on “Eating Disorders: Understanding the diagnostics, interventions, escalation of care and community resources.”
According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, it is estimated that over 28 million Americans will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. Eating disorders affect Americans of all ages, racial/ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, body shapes, weights and socioeconomic statuses. Eating disorders most often appear during the teen years or in young adults, however in recent years there has been an increase in cases among children and older adults.
